The School Day
Morning Arrangements
The school day starts at 9.00am with registration. According to advice in their EHCP’s, most learners are transported to and from school by taxi or minibus, although parents may bring their own children if they wish. Transport is arranged by the Local Authority, Student Travel Department, based at County Hall in Truro. The passenger assistants and drivers accompany the children to school where they are greeted by school staff. If there are any problems regarding transport arrangements please email Student Travel at studenttravel@cornwall.gov.uk
Lunchtime arrangements
Hot meals are available in school. These are prepared and served by our School cook. Although we encourage all children to have a hot meal, provision is made for children to bring in a packed lunch. This should be brought to school in a named lunchbox or similar container. Please refer to the Parent Information tab to view an example of our daily menu options.
School meals should be booked and paid for through Parent Pay. You will be sent details of how to access Parent Pay as part of the admissions process. Please top up on a regular basis under the relevant section.
Any parent who feels that their child may be entitled to free school meals should contact the Free School Meals Department, Schools Section, County Hall (0300 1234 100).
End of day arrangements
The school day ends at 3.00pm. Learners are called by radio from their classrooms when their transport is ready to collect them. School staff escort them to meet the transport personnel who ensure that all learners are present before loading the vehicle and leaving the premises.
